Foodie Friends is a school canteen pre-order app. Parents order meals online, every dish is checked against the child's allergies, and the canteen uses face recognition to give each meal to the right child.

A food ordering app that is live
Foodie Friends runs online, so parents can order from an Android phone or a web browser. Add your child, pick the meal days, pay, and keep the receipt.
- Ordering opens the day before the meal, from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, for up to five meal days at once.
- Pay in the app and save a PDF receipt.
- Cancel before 8:00 AM on the meal day for a full refund.

Nutrition-aware, down to the ingredient
The canteen builds each dish from ingredients and their weight. Calories, protein, carbohydrate, fat and vitamins are calculated automatically, and allergens come from the same list.
- Nutrition values are estimates based on USDA food data.
- A dish that contains your child's allergen can't be ordered.
- If the ingredient can be left out, order the dish without it and confirm.
- An administrator approves every new dish before parents see it.

Face recognition hands each meal to the right child
Parents register their child's face in the app. At pickup, the canteen scans the face and the child's order appears, with allergies and any "without" requests highlighted.
- The canteen sees one list per class, with allergies flagged.
- Scan the face to find the order, or confirm it manually.
- Each meal handed over is marked in the list.
